DJ Qbert
DJ Qbert. I'm featuring this amazing scratchologist because of an animated flick he did called 'Wave Twisters'. It's the kind of thing you'd project and play during a party in the background... It's amazing, and I'm sure there is nothing out there like it. Below is a snippet track from the animated movie, you can download both the movie and later the soundtrack/album. Get at it NOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW... the fate of trippity hippity hop is in your hands! Oh yeh, the style is similar to 'Alien Army' - this is a follow up to a reference I made - so check them out as well.

Wax Tailor
UPDATE!!! New album listed below, 'In The Mood For Life' - Three Superb Wax Tailor Albums to sample from... gets them alls!
He's actually the first sampler I ever stumbled upon... Wax Tailor also produces a lot fresh samples and beats, not solely relying on older samples - THOUGH he's got a bunch of those in his albums as well. Definitely a classic.
A 'new' album from last year I didn't have from the tailor... I thought he was dunsky, but apparently not... 'In the Mood for Life' (2009) Check out the sample track for an idea ---> Track: No Pity, Album: In the Mood for Life (2009)
Track: Sit&Listen, Album: In the mood for life (2009)
His first album, mentioned here, 'Tales of Forgotten Melodies' uses a lot of really classic older tracks (que sera, nina simones - how I feel, and more....). This to me is his best album... so it's the one I will focus on.
Track: How I feel, Album: Tales of Forgotten Melodies (2006)
Track: Que Sera, Album: Tales of Forgotten Melodies (2006)
From his other main album 'Hope and Sorrow' he moves away from the sampling of older melodies and more into producing in colabs with MC's/Vocalists...
Track: The Man with No Soul, Album: 'Hope and Sorrow' (2007)

This guy is pure amazement... reproducing tracks on his beats and some independant work with fairly well known artists.... Ronson is well know in the biz but more as a producer/DJ... give his tracks a listen... I've posted a few because of how versatile his work has been.
